Congratulations to Dr. Cleide Spröhnle-Barrera for her prize-winning oral research presentation titled “Epidemiology and Genetic Assessment of Splenic Nodular Lesions in Splenectomised Dogs” at the 2022 ISACP/ASVP Congress in Melbourne, Australia. Cleide recently completed her residency and postgraduate degree in Veterinary Clinical Science (Pathology) at the University of Queensland. She now works as a Veterinary Pathology Diagnostician at IDEXX in Brisbane.
2020-22 Heiner Sommer Prize Winner: Mads Kjelgaard-Hansen
Congratulations to Dr. Mads Kjelgaard-Hansen, who has been awarded the 2020-22 Heiner Sommer Prize! Dr. Kjelgaard-Hansen is Senior Scientific Advisor at Ascendis Pharma and an Affiliate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, where he spent much of his career. Mads is a long-time ISACP member who organized the 2012 Congress in Copenhagen, and served from 2012-14 as ISACP President. The Heiner Sommer Prize is awarded in recognition of Mads’ lifetime contributions in the field of animal clinical biochemistry, in particular his research on acute phase proteins and laboratory test quality and validation. Due to Covid-19, Dr. Kjelgaard-Hansen will present his keynote Heiner Sommer Lecture at the 2022 Congress in Australia.
