Welcome Letter from the Organizers

Preliminary Scientific Program (updated 15 Apr 2008)

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

We extend a warm welcome to Barcelona Spain.  Please come and join us from 30 September to 3 October 2008.  We are hosting the 10th Annual Congress of the European Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ESVCP) and the XIIIth Biennial Congress of the International Society for Animal Clinical Pathology (ISACP). This year we are also joined by the Association for Acute Phase Proteins (APP) and the European Association of Comparative Clinical Pathology (EACCP).

The scientific committees have organized an exciting and varied programme, and the local committee have organized a varied social programme. The main themes of the congress are reference values, infectious diseases, haemostasis testing, and blood cell analyzers, which links all the participating societies.  But, there are many other aspects too. The annual case presentations with a prize for the best one will be continued. The ISACP Heiner Sommer Prize and Lecture  and prizes for best abstracts and poster will also be continued.

The meeting will be held in CosmoCaixa Museum (Science Museum). One afternoon will be free for all of us to enjoy the nearby seaside and explore this beautiful and exciting city, followed  that evening by the congress banquet. There are so many things to see and do including visits to the beaches of Barceloneta, La Ville Olimpica, the streets of old Barcelona with Roman ruins, Gaudie buildings, the old Ramblas area and many, many more.

Barcelona is easily reached from all parts of Europe and the world by plane to its international airport or by train to the city centre local transport is also abundant.

Please submit abstracts on line for oral research presentations, posters and case presentations. The deadline is 1 JULY 2008.   www.esvcpcongress.org

Online registration with discounts for society members will be available. There will also be online accommodation and travel and tours information and registration available.

We are looking forward to greeting you in Barcelona
